ALLMI Lorry Loader and Slinger/Signaller training in Cambridge

For loader deliveries of plant or materials, provide the vehicle and attachment details. Where the receiving team prepares accessories or signals the lift, include those people in the Slinger/Signaller enquiry.

Our ALLMI training courses include Lorry Loader Operator and Slinger/Signaller. HIAB is a manufacturer name often used when searching for lorry-loader training. The course route is agreed from the candidate’s experience and the work required.

Successful ALLMI candidates receive the relevant ALLMI certificate and operator card carrying the CSCS logo. Driver CPC can be available with eligible ALLMI training, subject to the driver, approved course and recording requirements. Arrange this at booking; an extra charge applies per person, per day.

Reach stacker and container-handler training in Cambridge

A G4 reach stacker is a specialist container-handling machine. If a Cambridge stores team uses a warehouse reach truck, select the reach-truck route and send the truck model and normal tasks.

See the G4 reach stacker and G2 empty-container-handler course information. Novice, experienced, refresher or conversion needs are assessed from the operator’s background and equipment. Training uses suitable employer equipment, representative loads and an agreed practical area.

Forklift training in Cambridge – counterbalance, reach and refresher courses

Arrange on-site forklift training at your Cambridge workplace, using suitable equipment and a controlled practical area.

Counterbalance, reach, pallet stacker, tow tractor and other suitable MHE courses can be discussed. Tell us whether operators work in a goods yard, stores area or across several buildings.

Choose counterbalance forklift training, reach truck training or VNA forklift training. Previously trained operators can discuss forklift refresher training in Cambridge. See the forklift and MHE course directory for other equipment.

Tell us each operator’s previous training and experience so we can confirm the novice, experienced-operator, refresher or conversion route. These are in-house MHE courses; the quotation confirms the equipment, duration and certificate arrangements before booking.

Forklift training in Cambridge can cover B-category counterbalance, D-category reach truck and F-category VNA operators, with forklift refresher training in Cambridge or conversion training where previous experience supports the route. We can also discuss sideloader and multidirectional truck training, T1 vehicle-mounted lift truck training, pallet truck/stacker and order-picker training where suitable workplace equipment is available. There is no separate “forklift licence”; successful operator training is recorded by certificate for the relevant truck category.

Forklift training for Cambridge science, industrial and logistics growth

Cambridge is a globally significant science and technology economy, but that growth also depends on industrial space, laboratories, production units, stores and logistics. The Greater Cambridge plan identifies continued demand for industrial and logistics space, including locations along the A14 corridor, so practical MHE remains part of the city’s wider growth story.

We can train B-category counterbalance forklifts, D-category reach trucks and F-category VNA machines where racking and space drive the truck choice. For smaller loads and internal replenishment we can cover A1/A2 pallet trucks, A4/A5 stackers, E-category order pickers and SP1 vertical stock-picking equipment.

Cambridge employers with mixed fleets can use conversion training where existing competence genuinely transfers, but each course is still matched to the actual machine, lift height, load and workplace. This is especially important where high-density storage, laboratory support or production logistics use several MHE types side by side.

Planning training at your Cambridge site

We can discuss suitable workplaces in Cambridge and nearby Cambridgeshire employer sites. Confirm the working postcode and the equipment available at that location.

  • Provide the service entrance rather than a campus reception address.
  • Arrange visitor access, induction and a suitable theory room in advance.
  • Reserve the training machine so another department does not need to reclaim it during practical work.

Provide a suitable theory space as well as the practical area. Training dates and the course duration are confirmed once the machine, candidate numbers and experience are understood.

Can staff from several buildings attend at one Cambridge site?

Yes, this can be discussed if the host has suitable equipment and facilities. Send each candidate's usual machine duties and previous training so the scope is clear.
