MHE Training UK provides on-site reach truck forklift training for warehouses and employers across mainland UK. Courses cover novice, experienced-operator, refresher and conversion routes, using your suitable reach truck, racking and loads.
Reach trucks help warehouses maximise storage space because the mast or fork carriage retracts, bringing the load partly within the truck’s footprint and allowing operation in narrower aisles than a conventional counterbalance truck. The operating position, restricted visibility and 360-degree steering fitted to many reach trucks can take time to master, so practical training needs to develop smooth steering, observation and accurate load placement.

MHE Training UK delivers reach-truck training directly at the customer’s workplace, with practical coaching built around the actual truck, racking and loads operators use. This helps candidates develop confident steering, observation and accurate load-handling technique on equipment they recognise.
Reach truck training at your workplace
Training can be matched to D1 Reach Fork Truck, D2 Reach Fork Truck and D3 Stand-On Reach Truck configurations, subject to the actual machine and workplace requirements. Pedestrian reach trucks are covered separately under the A7 category.
Why D1, D2 and D3 reach-truck distinctions matter
MHE Training UK continues to identify D1, D2 and D3 reach trucks separately because lift height and seated versus stand-on operating position can materially affect visibility, controls, racking interaction and the practical training required.
Training is matched to the actual truck and workplace rather than relying on a broad category label alone. Where an operator moves to a significantly different reach-truck configuration, the training requirement is reviewed against the machine, task, lift height and previous experience.

Our reach truck training is delivered on site using your company’s suitable reach truck and normal working environment. The course can support novice operators, experienced operators who need formal training, and previously trained operators who require refresher or conversion training.

Reach truck course duration, capacity and price
The programme depends on the truck type and each operator’s previous experience. For rider-operated reach trucks, the normal on-site course plan is:

Pedestrian reach-truck courses are planned separately; a novice programme is typically 3 days and experienced or refresher training is typically 1 day, with a normal maximum of 3 candidates.
Prices are for the course at £300 per training day with no VAT added. The final plan is confirmed after reviewing experience, the truck specification and the workplace.

Can reach truck training be delivered on our own truck?
Yes. On-site training is normally carried out using the customer’s suitable reach truck, racking and representative loads so the practical exercises reflect the real workplace.
Do you provide refresher and conversion training?
Yes. Refresher and conversion routes are available for previously trained or experienced operators once their previous experience and the exact truck category have been confirmed.
How many candidates can attend?
The normal maximum is three candidates per course so each operator has enough practical time on the truck.
The duration depends on operator experience, group size and the work to be covered. Novice training normally takes longer than refresher or conversion training. Before confirming dates, we will ask about the truck type, operator experience and the facilities available for safe training.
Assessment and certification
This is an in-house MHE training course, with theory and practical assessment. Your quotation confirms the training route, equipment covered and certificate arrangements before you book.
