Avoid delays and wrong-course bookings
A useful quotation starts with the job, the equipment and the candidates. Supplying the details below lets us confirm the correct route and arrive prepared.
1. Course and machine
- The course or operational task you need covered.
- Machine type, make, model, capacity and power source.
- Photographs of the data plate, controls and attachments when the category is unclear.
- For lorry loaders: loader details, attachment category and typical lifting work.
2. Candidate information
- Number of candidates and their names where available.
- Previous certificates or training records.
- How recently and how often each person operates.
- Any literacy, language, medical or reasonable-adjustment information relevant to safe participation.
3. Workplace and practical area
- Full site address and the contact who will meet the instructor.
- A safe area that can be segregated for the required exercises.
- Racking, stacking space, loads and lifting accessories needed for realistic practice.
- A quiet theory area, welfare arrangements and site induction requirements.
- Known restrictions such as low doors, gradients, poor ground, overhead hazards or live traffic.
4. Dates and operating constraints
Provide preferred dates, shift times and whether weekday or weekend delivery is best. Explain any production windows or access rules. The calendar shows availability, but a date is only fully suitable when the equipment, candidates and training area can also be made available.
5. Records and commercial details
Confirm the employer name for certification and invoicing, purchase-order requirements and the person who should receive the completed records. Public rates are £300 per day for in-house MHE training and £400 per day plus £50 per candidate for ALLMI training. No VAT is added.

Common booking mistakes to avoid
- Giving only a workplace nickname for the machine when the exact category is unclear.
- Assuming every previously trained operator automatically qualifies for a refresher course.
- Choosing dates before confirming the machine, practical area and representative loads will be available.
- Forgetting to mention attachments, unusual controls, high lift heights or restricted operating areas.
- Booking a group size before checking the candidate limit for the course and equipment.

Can I ask for a quotation before choosing exact dates?
Yes. Send the site postcode, course, machine and candidate details first. Suitable dates can then be matched to the live diary once the likely course route and duration are clear.
Do I need to send previous certificates?
If candidates have previous training records, send them when possible. They help establish the correct route and reduce the risk of booking refresher or conversion training for someone whose previous category or experience does not match the job.
Can weekday and weekend dates be requested?
Yes. Both are available subject to location, the equipment being ready and our live availability.
