ALLMI Training Cost & Price Comparison

ALLMI training with MHE Training UK costs £400 per training day for the course group, plus £50 per candidate for books and certification materials. No VAT is added. We provide on-site ALLMI Lorry Loader training and ALLMI Slinger / Signaller training nationwide, with weekday and weekend dates available. For help choosing between the courses, see our ALLMI training course guide.

How is your ALLMI training cost calculated?

ALLMI course total before optional Driver CPC = training days × £400 + candidates × £50. The instructor day rate covers the agreed course group. The £50 materials charge is added once for each candidate on that course. Candidate numbers, experience and the required course category are checked before the duration and complete quotation are confirmed.

Use the examples below to compare a one-day experienced course with a two-day novice course, then check available training dates or request a quotation for your site.

Driver CPC available with eligible ALLMI training

A full 7-hour day of eligible ALLMI Lorry Loader or Slinger / Signaller training can count as 7 hours towards Driver CPC, subject to driver eligibility, DVSA approval of the course and training centre, and correct registration and recording. Driver CPC must be arranged at booking; ALLMI attendance alone does not automatically qualify.

Extra charges apply per person, per day for the Driver CPC add-on. The example ALLMI totals on this page exclude this optional add-on. The additional cost is confirmed before booking. Combining the training can reduce the need for separate CPC training days, saving you time and helping keep your drivers on the road.

Ask for Driver CPC when requesting your quotation. See ALLMI guidance and DVSA course requirements.

HIAB training prices and course duration

HIAB is a loader-crane manufacturer, and the name is often used to describe lorry-loader training. The course we deliver is ALLMI Lorry Loader Operator training, matched to your crane, attachment and lifting duties. The same published daily rate applies to our Lorry Loader and Slinger / Signaller courses.

ALLMI specifies one day for experienced candidates and a minimum of two days for novice candidates on both courses. Slinger / Signaller courses have a maximum of four candidates. The route and final duration must suit the candidates’ experience and the practical training required.

Example ALLMI course totals

Example Training days Candidates Example total
Experienced ALLMI Operator or experienced Slinger / Signaller 1 1 £450
Experienced course 1 4 £600
Novice ALLMI Operator or novice Slinger / Signaller 2 1 £850
Novice course 2 4 £1,000

These examples use the published £400 daily rate and £50 candidate charge. The correct route must be confirmed from candidate experience and the actual lifting duties before booking.

One-day experienced course or two-day novice course?

The difference in total price normally comes from the training route rather than a different daily rate. An experienced operator who satisfies the requirements for the experienced route can normally complete a one-day ALLMI course, while a novice candidate requires a minimum two-day programme. The correct route is based on previous training, relevant experience and the duties the operator will perform.

For that reason, a one-day quotation should not be compared directly with a two-day novice quotation unless the candidates meet the same entry criteria. A shorter course is only cheaper when it is also the correct course. If previous training cannot be evidenced or the operator does not have the experience expected for the shorter route, a longer programme may be required.

What affects an ALLMI quotation?

  • Whether the course is Lorry Loader Operator or Slinger / Signaller.
  • Whether candidates are novice, experienced or refresher candidates.
  • The number of candidates attending the course.
  • The loader-crane category, attachment and normal lifting duties.
  • The site location, access arrangements and suitability of the practical area.
  • Whether suitable loads, lifting accessories and equipment are available for the required exercises.

The written quotation confirms the course route, planned duration, candidate numbers, site requirements and complete price before the booking is accepted.

What the customer should provide

For on-site ALLMI training, the customer should provide suitable serviceable equipment and a safe practical training area. For Lorry Loader Operator training this normally means the vehicle-mounted loader crane, the relevant attachment and representative lifting work. For Slinger / Signaller training, suitable lifting accessories, representative loads and enough space for practical signalling and load-handling exercises may also be required.

A quiet area is also needed for theory, paperwork and written assessment. If the site has induction requirements, restricted access, PPE rules or operational limitations, tell us before the course so the day can be planned correctly.

Books Confirm whether required candidate materials are included. £50 per candidate.
VAT VAT can change the final invoice. No VAT.

Candidate experience Novice, experienced and conversion courses can require different durations. Confirmed before dates are booked.

What should an ALLMI course include?

The course and duration must suit the operator’s experience and the loader-crane category or attachment. See ALLMI’s official operator-training information for scheme details.

Questions to ask before choosing a provider

  • Is the quotation daily or per candidate?
  • How many candidates can attend?
  • Are books, certification, travel and accommodation shown clearly?
  • Is VAT payable?
  • Does the course match the machine category, attachment and experience?
  • Are suitable weekday or weekend dates available?

How to get an accurate ALLMI quote

  1. Send the full training-site postcode.
  2. Confirm whether you need Lorry Loader Operator, Slinger / Signaller, or both.
  3. Provide the loader make/model, attachment and normal lifting duties.
  4. Confirm candidate numbers and each person’s previous training or relevant experience.
  5. Check the live availability page and provide every weekday or weekend date that could work.
  6. Tell us about inductions, PPE, access restrictions or site limitations that could affect the training day.

Once those details are checked, we can confirm the suitable route and provide the written total rather than quoting a headline figure that may not match the actual job.

ALLMI training price FAQs

Is the £400 rate per person?

No. The published £400 figure is the training-day rate for the agreed course group. The separate £50 candidate charge covers the candidate books and certification materials stated on this page.

Why does a four-person one-day course total £600?

The example uses one training day at £400 plus four candidate charges at £50 each: £400 + £200 = £600. The group size and course route still have to be suitable for the specific ALLMI course.

Why is a novice course more expensive?

Novice candidates require a longer programme. A two-day course at the same £400 daily rate costs more because it uses two training days, not because the daily rate changes.

Do you add VAT?

No VAT is added to the published prices shown on this page.

Compare the total cost, not only the headline

Competitor prices and inclusions can change, so obtain a current written quotation and compare the same course, duration, candidate numbers and location.

A useful comparison should also check whether the quoted provider is pricing the same training route. An experienced one-day course and a novice two-day course are not equivalent products. Compare like with like: same ALLMI course, same candidate experience, same group size, same equipment and the same site requirements. That is the only meaningful way to judge the total cost.

Never rely on an undated online headline alone.
